Named after the world's deepest and oldest lake which happens to be located in Siberia, Baikal perfectly alternates between evoking vast bright expanses and desolate uninhabited areas. Lush synth pads and atmospheric drones are enriched with dynamic micro-sounds and digitally altered textures much like on Corona, and despite the Siberian excursion, older obsessions resurface on "Cosmic" where a frightened child describes being attacked by a UFO. As long as S.E.T.I. continues like this, we'll have something to look forward to.
