Necromondo is rumoured to be the project of one mysterious individual by the name of Tirdad CK, and as far as I know this is his only release besides a 3″ mCD which accompanied the first 50 copies of the full length sold through the label, Mechanoise Labs. Obviously influenced by overdosing on classic 70’s and 80’s zombie horror, Necromondo does a great job both paying tribute to, and recreating a modernized score to these cinematic nasties by means of composing nightmarish soundscapes of sonic dread.
Largely constructed of buzzing synths, looped field recordings and eerie digital throbbing, reminding me of equal parts Lustmord’s darker material and perhaps some of the calmer, less extreme recordings from Atrax Morgue. This opus definitely generates one of the strongest feelings of impending doom that I’ve heard within the Death Industrial / Dark Ambient genres, while still possessing a slight, lighter hearted “comic book” element that definitely helps maintain any listener’s interest.
